Just looked for Florida coinshows in September and found one in Titusville on the 12th. Wondered if anyone had been to it and if it was worthwhile making the effort for? We may be in Fl but not too close but could get there if it is any good. Thanks.
Okay, it is actually on the 19th. If this many folk go there it must be great! As a follow up then, are there any central Florida coin shops worth a visit? Thanks for your help.
Thought that I'd try this again as it's now just a week or two away. Anyone here go or show here? Is it worth going to?

Thanks for the list of dealers! It will be very useful at the FUN show in January, which is being held in Tampa this year.
And just to finalise this for future searches - I went to the show last weekend. There were in fact 11-12 tables hosted by members of the Titusville Coin Club. All the folks there were helpful and ready to chat. Didn't manage to buy much but that is more through my eclectic taste rather than the offerings. I don't have too many US coins so few holes to fill.
Is there ever any coin shows in the Vero Beach down too Fort lauderdale area ? Good ones where a good find can be had... It would be my very first show. I had show dogs for years and followed that circuit around the state for a while from 2006 - 2010
Fort Lauderdale Coin Club is very active and have monthly shows on the 3rd Sunday of each month. http://www.ftlauderdalecoinclub.com/ The Palm Beach Coin Club is the largest coin club in Florida, with over 350 members. They have a coin show the 4th Sunday of each month. http://fun-forums.livejournal.com/105984.html Both shows are populated primarily with US and foreign dealers. Only 2 dealers in ancients, who can best be found at the Palm Beach shows.
Thank you very much... I will watch for something this winter. I would like to go to something large and feel it out.. My guess is that the palm beach county one is full of very rich guys touting their coins.. These type did not get rich by sharing, or even at the very least offering a "good deal" They usually make their money by being very shrewd... Thus the chances of getting a good find is rare...
If you want a large show, head to the Florida United Numismatics (FUN) Coin Show in Tampa January 7-10, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center. This is the largest Florida coin show, with about 1500 dealers, so there is lots of competition and good deals to be found. It's lots of fun! http://www.funtopics.com/fun-convention.html Both of the local shows only have 50-100 collectors and dealers selling at the shows. So FUN is definitely a better choice for variety and deals. I live south of Fort Lauderdale, but am a member of the Palm Beach club (not the FL club). It's a very active club with regularly scheduled speakers and events, and friendly collectors. I agree, there are deep pocket collectors in the club touting their coins, and they can be arrogant and real snobs. But since they only buy the best, this leaves some fairly good deals for the "less than perfect" coin -- which is what I collect.
