I don't know anything about ancient coins

I'm a physics groupie. The more complex physics theories don't always click but I still enjoy reading about them and listening to more knowledgable people discuss them.

When our PhysicsNerds group meets, I'll bring cookies. :D.

    ...

    A few relevant jokes:

Two kittens on a sloped roof. Which one slides off first?

The one with the lowest mew. :joyful::joyful:

    ---

A Photon checks into a hotel and the bellhop asks him if he has any luggage. The Photon replies “No, I’m traveling light.”

    :D

Perhaps you have figured out why Steve's posts have at the bottom:
Ummm, I apologize for what I'm about to say ...

There is some dispute on which sigloi are from Darius and which are from Xerxes or Artaxerxes and for that matter which of the last two was the husband of Esther.

The best answer is whichever coin you have is the right one.

i collected ancient coins for a year and a half before i got a book (the one i mentioned on the first page). as everyone else here has said, there is a TON of great online material. and coin forums like cointalk are great, with many knowledgeable friendly people that are will to share their knowledge with you.

when your ready to buy some coins, if you're uncertain...run my folks here on the board or by pm and you'll get plenty of help.

i'm a biology guy, but i like physics. i usually prefer it watered down a bit and made fun.

i like this guy...he makes physics fun.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

While I don't have any 2-cent pieces, I do have a few English hammered shillings. One of the (many) sets I'm working on is a shilling type set by monarch.

As for the "physics" tangent - I have a degree in rocket science, but I now work as a nuclear physicist for the Navy. So to say that I am "fan" may be an understatement.

    See what I did there?

    Does Army Air Force count?
