I don't collect Alexandrian tets (or maybe I do since I have two now), so I was surprised by the difference in size between the Valerian and my Probus. Twenty odd years of inflation made for some shrinkage...

From the seller's pic, I would have been happy with a coin in F with good surfaces. I did not expect so much small detail!

Faaaantastic! What excellent coins, JA. Love a good gamble, especially the not-really-a-gamble variety. Bravo!

Yummy-yummy, mister Naboteneezer ... I love seeing our local gang snagging some sweet deals (it makes it more optimistic for the gang and increases the giddy trigger-happiness of our cool hobby!!)

who rocks? .... you do, my coin-friend!! (bullseye on the gamble => cha-ching, great to see our gang getting better at cashing-in!!)

... which one of these following photos captures the feeling correctly?

We have to wonder how he came to own those coins and whether he has more. I assume you asked that last one.

He has more for sale now, but they look pretty rough, even with the poor images.

This reminds me how I like the Alexandria style over quite a range of years. Yours is exceptionally nice with the bust offset so there is a bit more space in front of the face. Mine is sooooo ordinary in comparison but was $7 in 2010 at a Baltimore show. Is yours worth 2-3X as much? I'd say it is.
