If it's the size and shape of an ASE, but weighs 30 instead of 31.1 grams, it's not real silver. I suppose it could be real silver and slightly undersized. It also could be heavy platinum plate over an aluminum core, but there's no real reason to expect that, either.
Well I don't have a 2000 W, so I'm in for a roll. I should be able to sell them at quite a premium since I don't see any in the population reports. Although I think that West Point made some without a mintmark. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm about to be rich.
Yeah the seller just needs to change his listing to "fantasy mintmark overstrike coins" and he'll have collectors fawning over them instead of condeming them.
buy them with PayPal using credit card ... if not silver .. just file dispute with credit card ... in past , I have been reimbursed , never had to return items
there are a lot of African coins being sold ... government issued coins .. says 1oz SILVER on them ... problem is the only thing 1oz is the weight .. plated coins
Bought some Raybans from a Chinese seller once, who claimed they where in the US, ebay refunded me before the glasses arrived because others reported it. I'm sure this will go the same way but there must be an easier way to make a living then to go through all the hassle of signing up as a seller for a couple of cheap $20 fakes.
