I'll help, I'll post my vams in a couple of days . Due in probate court friday, real busy week here ...
Nice coins--like them all. I have collected Morgans all my life, but not interested in VAMS, so not a big help here.
The first 1884-O is vam 23, I put a couple of arrows to where the doubling is on the 1 & 4 Here's the link to this vam http://www.vamworld.com/1884-O+VAM-23
Wow on the '84 VAM-23, it is amazing you can pick out the doubling on the "1". I just don't see it, but just have to study more on them. I can on the "4", nice coin.
This second 1884-O is a very far date, but its a bit tricky, so I put a circle around the area in question . So I'm going to list some vams, that interest me: 19, 19A, 32, not sure what the reeding looks like Here's the link to the " Date Position " http://www.vamworld.com/1884-O+Date+Position
What I do is, put them in my pictures, crop them and then I blow them up . Then I can see everything I need to, sometime I even use graph lines too ...
I really think this coin is, or was 16A . Vam world images ( 16A ) from vam world are missing 2 images, but they can be found in 19A . Thats why it was tricky, got to love the folks at vam world .. Lol ... Heres that link http://www.vamworld.com/1884-O VAM-19A and heres the vam link http://www.vamworld.com/1884-O VAM-16A
This 1885 need to be sent in . Vam world is looking for a specimen to study. ( 9D7 ) This coin is vam 9G EDS, since the die crack is missing from the wreath to the fist " L " in Dollar . I put a straight line where the die crack is missing . Vam world has made this, vam 9D7 ( Unofficial ) . I also put some circles around the other areas Here's the link to 9G http://www.vamworld.com/1885-P VAM-9G and here's the link to 9D7 http://www.vamworld.com/1885 P VAM-9D7
