My guess would be fake b/c of the reverse. The obverse looks pretty nice but the reverse looks very questionable. The eagle wings don't have enough detail and the font of the letters just don't look right. jmo

On second look the obverse looks fake as well. Too bad, you could have a $35k to $45k coin if it was real.

Pictures need to be better especially obverse but I'm going with fake at the moment.

No... two PUPs that immediately strike me: the 6 and the bottom curl of the dress. This on top of the overall "look".

Fake! the 9 and 6 are both the wrong shape.

Reverse eagle looks funky to me........larger pics would help OP. Don't choose 'thumbnail' when you upload pics.

Beyond the overall look, the date looks totally wrong.

I'll join the party and say fake on account of the 6 in the date and the funky looking rims in the 10:30-12:00 area on the obverse.

I'd say fake , as the shield on the shield should be short and fat , the hair should end in one point and be thinner at that point . This and the date look wrong to me , though I'd love to see a clearer pic .

The people mentioning the date are correct, the shape of the 6 is wrong.

It's fake, just look at the 6 in the date as previously stated.

I'd still get it checked by a trustworthy coin dealer, just in case. I know nothing about them, but from the picture I posted I'd say it's fake.

Great topic here. I saw 2 SLQs at the ANA show, both PCGS certified. In my dreams, if I ever have a chance to buy a 1916 SLQ, it will certainly be certified.

No need... even if you ignored the dates in your photo, there is another unmistakable identifier clearly visible that absolutely sinks even the remotest possibly.
