Hello, I came across this good looking 1968 S cent & did some wishful thinking (still am :-?) I took 3 different pics & hopefully 1 of them is decent enough so you can see what I see (do u hear what I hear) Lol Anyways- I think there r quite a few varieties-not really sure, I'm kind of confused-there seems to b quite a bit going on there. Could it b a doubled die? Oh yeah, I see it in the date & LI in Liberty? Thank you
OK guys-see if these r any better-I includedic of reverse too! Thank you for taking the time out & looking @ for me. I do appreciate it
I wouldn't listen to him. He gets tipsy when he looks at the labels. OK, this is what you've got. You've got one very handsome gem cent. Very nice. Put it in one of those cardboard thingys and center it in the window. It's a keeper.
The photographs presented by the OP show nothing that can be discerned as a doubled die. What is needed, is something like this one which got a "Too Minor To List" from CONECA with some reservations: Yes, it's a proof coin with the point being, the photography clearly shows doubling.
Here's coppercoins DDO-002 Here's the link for this DDO: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1968&die_id=1968s1do002&die_state=mds
Did you self attribute this particular 1968-S? These photos look nothing like the ones from the link you provided.
This is one of the coins I showed to Mr. Potter back a long time ago . Images are when I first started taking images, didn't even know about cent errors at that time, I was heavy into vams .. They weren't taken to match anything at that time either, I new something was going on and thats why I photo the coin ..
