I wanted to say something about this but i dont know a whole lot about proof morgans. Id definitely try getting it slabbed
1940-S Lincoln Cent (PCGS MS65RB). One of the prettiest colorfully toned business strike Lincolns I've ever seen. I call this one "Aurora Borealis" because the reverse reminded me of the northern lights. I got this in a Trade with (arguably) the #1 collector of colorfully toned business strike Lincolns, who goes by the moniker CopperColor. The coin originally came from a dealer in Indiana who told me this story: "That coin came out of a Lincoln Album that I purchased from a long time customer. He had those stored for quite some time. I can assure you he did not artificially tone this coin as he would not have the knowledge to do so. There were probably 20 coins in the book that had similar toning but this one was the best looking." Definitely some hits, marks, and dings on this coin. I am thinking PCGS could have given it a 64 grade rather than a 65 -- but probably bumped it due to the killer luster and color.
It is so hard to photo this type of coin that shows the true colors, that I used the sellers photo for the Reverse.
Latest addition is Constantine The Greats Dad, Constantius I. The coin is pretty much black in color, was very hard to get a photo of. Constantius I (305 - 306 A.D.) Ӕ Post Reform Radiate O: FL VAL CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES: Radiate and cuirassed bust right. R: CONCORDIA MILI-TVM: Constantius standing facing right receiving Victory on globe from Jupiter standing opposite and holding sceptre, H Gamma in lower centre. Heraclea Mint, 295 - 296 A.D. 22mm 3.3g RIC VI Heraclea 15
Hmmm not sure, but that would be really cool! I checked CPG and didn't see anything for this date. There is a nice little clash evident at the top of the reverse tho.
Too bad the amazing luster can't be shown along with the amazing color. Jefferson's all red with the luster is pretty darn cool to view in hand. I am very pleased with the photo here especially since I could not get a passable image of the coin to save my life when it was in the former holder. Not common for that to happen as I normally find a way. This was a coin that I picked up at Summer FUN. PCGS PR66
That may be the prettiest 1955 Proof Jefferson I've seen. They usually don't tone with such nice colors.
It need not be in cpg to be a variety take a closer look there is something in the denticals. I also looked up the coin it's a Valentine 3
The Emperor Constantine was one of the biggest influences on Christianity, and ensured the lasting influence of Rome far beyond its formal collapse centuries earlier!
