I got 30 Trumans, and only 6 of these. I want at least 2 for my collection.. which means I will not be selling my last 4 for cheap. Probably not under $300 each
Unopened box of 2 just sold in auction for: $685! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Coin-C...47032974?hash=item3aaf2c828e&autorefresh=true
Bingo, I was already thinking about getting a nice peace dollar with a mint mark on it. Like a 23 S or 27 D or 27 S, but a 21 or 28 would work just as well.
Wow what a nervous delima No conformation yet, but the mint hit my Credit card just now. Looks like the highest price paid so far was 250 each set 500.00 for a box of 2. But wait some people are running a BIN for 385.00 for each set. The hype will disapate but it really proves that the Mint screwed up. maybe if they limit it to 1 set per house hold it will sell out in for minutes. The US Mint is out of touch with their customers. 17,000 units for a Reverse Proof president coin when the Presidential proof series that had 3.8 - 8 million prior sales for the sets for any other year!
Probably all of them are ready to ship today. I believe it was the same for the Truman ones. They know it will be a sell out, why not have them ready?
I wonder if this frenzy will carry over to the Native American coin and currency set on the 24th....???
Ok I got mine too. But the Mint can't keep this up. How fast do we think this one sold out? 7 Minutes??????
The site crashed twice on me while checking out. spent more time trying to get back on the site to check out than to order. needless to say I ended up with nothing but two units in my bag. pretty upset with the way the Mint site is set up. hope they will only send two sets per address as the big companies again will be making big bucks at our expense. tired of trying to get a coin for my collection when I have to fight big coin companies and flippers.
Just checked my CC online statement...there are 2 authorizations listed - both are for the full amount of 2 sets, one at 12:03, the other 30 min later. Odd.
Seems to be a pattern with the mint lately they did this to me and others starting with the Truman sets then the HR gold, etc. One authorization usually falls off after a few business days.
I bought my two sets after many site crashes and weird circa 2000 looking checkout screens. These will add nicely to my Ike set
I think the reverse of the medal is really good looking. Reminds me of the Community Service commemorative from the late '90s I believe.
