Some good news and some bad

Sent some coins to NGC 1 SEGS Crack out, 1-1917 I thought was a DDO but no luck and 3 Classic commemoratives which were bought raw

Sure would be nice if they included the telling signs upon which the not genuine determination was made.

Too bad about the Maine Centennial Dwhiz. It would have fooled me. Anthony Swiatek in his book Encyclopedia of Commemorative coins of the United States (2012) mentions that no fakes have been found to date.

Wow....didn't see that one coming ! But other then that bomb you did pretty good. I'm not up on commemorative ,but I got to ask why fake one? I could understand if the mintage was extremely low. However if I were going to fake a coin they would be the last on my list to fake. Nor would I pick a very high dollar key. It just goes to show you...they are out there.
