Just had a bad experience with the Russian guy, I think, that runs this outfit. I did not want to use Wise.com to do money and he does not do Pay Pal. I cancelled. He said we will be more than happy to block someone who is not smart enough to use Wise.com. I wrote back a real nasty note that I won’t repeat here. Does anyone use this Russian and his Company. I know I will get heck for backing out, but that’s life. My thought is to make people aware of him…. Rich
Anybody that speaks to potential customers in that way is too stupid to have been in business in the first place.
I live in Poland... hence my bias, but this screams of sanction subversion, and if this is a Russian counterparty - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Even if they claim to be anti-Russian Establishment, they should have left the country for Georgia by now. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON - anyone in any way associating with that S**T H**E needs to be vetted. Right now, we are engaged in a war for civilization, all of us.
Both - There is a Russian trading on this platform (at best / at worst, a Russian on a Russian Controlled platform) making problems about payment (indicating that this individual has not left Russia). I think there is reason to be concerned.
Whatever. I don't really care whether or not CHS is run by a Russian - so long as they are honest and trustworthy.
Nonsense. Yes. The three things I always check, before bidding in an auction, are buyer's fees, payment options, and shipping costs.
Never heard of them and wish it had remained that way. Nothing you did but to be treated like that by the owner is a sure way to have your business closed for lack of business. And I’ve never heard of wise.com either.
The owner's response was rude, no question about that. But on the other hand, if this was an auction, @Mammothtooth did renege on a binding agreement to purchase the item(s), for reasons that were not the fault of the auction house. Just saying.
No problem, I agree with you. But not using PayPal threw me off. I have never used Wise.com and it looks like a bad site from reviews.
Maybe so, but Russian business people I don’t like. Just saying, especially when they insult me first. Also best not to get me started on Russia topic. I would agree with George Patton on that. nice we can agree to disagree..
My understanding is that PayPal is not operating in Russia, or for Russian nationals as a result of the war. I would suggest you do not assume the political ties this individual has. Those generalizations are horrid, especially now. That being said, I would avoid this seller too. Thanks for making a post and letting us know about your bad experience
Speaking ONLY to the legitimacy of Wise; it's a real thing, safe enough to use. I do, anyway, for auctions that require bank transfer for payment. Works great. I hate when they won't take PayPal or C.C. I had to backout on an auction lot I won, before finding Wise, once too. After placing my bid, my bank's webpage for transfers went down for updates & it cost like an extra $50 (for who knows why!!) to do it in person at the bank. There was nothing I could think to do. Tried reasoning with the auction house, find another way to pay; no luck, just snippy messages demanding I transfer their money immediately. Felt bad, but they were being rediculous. Even offered to send cash, in the correct currency, by mail with me assuming the risk. Good luck.
