You can't be serious... eBay is full of over priced and misrepresented dreck, Rick, and you know it. This hobby is full of fools and their money, and the near countless dreck peddlers on the bay, with their questionable photos and lenient return policies, prove this. When one's target customer is someone who sees only what they want to, or who doesn't know any better, a false sense of security is the very point. As for calling an iffy coin iffy, with all due respect, that's being nice, and I have a hard time believing you don't realize this as well. And yes.. I did come to this thread (not forum) to say it because it's only fair for someone to do so. All the hand holding is fine and dandy, but honesty and reality should matter as well, especially on a forum with a fair number of newer collectors still in the early stages of learning.
Again, why would the seller waste his time taking bad images to fool someone, with a 14 day return policy .. He wouldn't have a leg to stand on for a return, no matter what the issue is . It would be returned with a full refund . I like to trust people before they try to screw someone, if they screw someone, then all bets are off and I would have to agree . But that hasn't happen yet, so why put the cart before the horse ...
I'd go back to reading books before you call a coin that you've never seen (except for a photo) "iffy".
This coin was a big hit on pcgs forums and I think its uncalled for anyone to say that the images are iffy . Now I can see a whole bunch of new bee never buying a coin that has theses kind of images, which to me is very stupid .... When I receive the coin, I will take new images to show all the new bee, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and someone with good eyes should already know this ....
Heres an lesson for all the new bee, when your looking for coins on ebay make sure the seller is well established ( 14919 ) and has a feedback of 100% ...
And if you don't like it, return it as per the seller's terms and conditions as listed on his post at eBay.
I don't think I'll have any issue with this coin, why would the seller risk his perfect ( 100% ) feedback with 14919 feedbacks of his own ...
I think its pretty terrible to bash this seller with that kind of feedback . How many seller on ebay have those kind of credentials ...
Oy vey... "Big Hit", huh? The reception was far from the forum falling over the coin's, ahem, "greatness" and seemed to center only on your variety claims. Oh, and as for "good eyes", coming from the poor attribution master, that doesn't mean much. Again, Rick... (and perhaps it will sink in this time) I couldn't care less about your purchases, and if you like the coin, that's great. The initial issue here isn't with you, but those putting forward the idea that this coin, in this general condition, was some great steal.
Heres a suggestion, I posted the link to ebay where I bought the coin, tell the seller his images are iffy and see what he tells you ... Thats in all fairness, better yet, post a link to this thread and then he can post his anwser here .. Just a thought ...
Yes, I'd like to hear the seller's comments as well. If every eBay seller had his satisfaction rating eBay would not have any complaints to answer.
The reason I bought the coin was because of the images .. If their altered ( iffy ) the coin will be returned, thats for sure ... But again, I don't think there will be any issues here ....
Just reread your original post. Yes you did. Please post the results and the coin as soon as you get the "iffy" coin, even if you returned the coin. Again, from the photo, it looks great and I would have paid the same price. I don't do eBay-not enough time but I would buy from this seller.
I can't what to hear the results when it's in your hands and see the pics. Some people just don't get it!
Sweet! and worth every penny of the $50.00. When you bought this, did you consider it an "iffy" coin, given the price and all?
