I see your point. Definitely would not deal this way with someone that didn't have an outstanding reputation and rapport. Unfortunately the guy is no longer with us. That old-school honor is hard to find now.

 

But who exactly found this bag of coins? If found in the Atlantic Ocean, Spain wants them back, if found in a western state, wells Fargo wants them back. If found traced back to a US Mint employee, the Mint wants them back. Tuck them away and say nothing.

 

Think the answer is : You tell him to go get the money and you will be back in a half hour.

 

.......and when he returns with the cash, you stick a gun in his ribs.

I did not find a "hoard of 100 one ounce gold coins, worth at least 100,000." However, I did find a 1963-D 90% silver dime in pocket change. TC

Probably one of the snakes that hang around those places would follow you home and do a b/e or stickup.Only sell thru legitimate(well funded) outlets for your own safety.....
