I don't know if anything else takes me back to feeling like a kid on Christmas morning right before opening gifts like opening coin rolls. Just picked these up at the bank. Mix of dimes, nickels and cents, $20 total... I will post any finds later.
So, are you still getting the eye rolls from the teller? Do you keep any of the 2009 coinage you find? Good luck.
No eye rolls today lol. Two cute tellers helped me. One didn't have enough rolls to fill my twenty so she asked the other teller next to her. Best part was when the other teller leaned forward to get the rolls out of her drawer you could pretty much see everything. It didn't appear she was wearing a bra. I wasn't trying to look or anything, it just happened. It was definitely a surprise. Not one that I'm complaining about either I do look for 2009 and keep them. Anyway, almost finished with the search. Here is my coin roll table setup...
Okay here are the results... Dimes: Nothing from 2 rolls (one roll was bank wrapped and entirely 2015). Cents: 26 pre-1983 copper Memorial cents (no wheats). This includes one 1968-S. 1 1982-P zinc cent (small date) 2 2009 Bicentennial cents Nickels: 1940-S, 1959-P & 1968-S 2 2009-P 5 2004 Westward Journey 3 2005 Westward Journey Coincidentally found 1968-S for both cent and nickel. I don't know why I keep 2009 bicentennial cents or westward journey nickels but I do - at least for now. I might someday try to sell them by the roll. If I can't I will just turn them in at the bank for face. Still not sure what I'm doing here. The most interesting find (in my opinion) is the 1940-S nickel. Aside from its old age, it also appears to have a die crack from the "O" in "OF" thru the "N" in "CENTS" and "E" in "MONTICELLO". Unfortunately, it is well worn. I also pulled a couple 1994-P nickels and a 1997-P nickel, but sadly they don't appear to be the special matte ones.
Speaking of coins. I have searched nickel rolls and have yet to find a 2009-P nickel. I bought a mint set at a coin show just so I had one.
I had been looking for 2009-P nickels in my change and in coin rolls for a long time without ever finding one. Then yesterday I get two, go figure.
