Just curious, what part of Indiana are you in? I grew up in Crown Point, which is in the northwestern part near the Illinois border.

My son has a Red-tailed Boa - a beautiful animal, and almost six feet long now.

Those are nice. I had a ball python. Wife put her foot down when she got pregnant. Something about a crib in the snake room...or was that a snake in my sons room...
    I made the right call.

Yes, you made the right call. Wives have a way of putting their foot down that's final, lol. Still, very tough to lose a pet, no matter how.

Here's a coin of Geta from Pautalia, one of the first provincials I bought, coincidentally from the same dealer that sold me the OP coins.

Maybe @stevex6 will post his Hadrian (I think?) that has the snake on it.
Do you have a Hadrian with a snake on it?

I grew up in Zionsville when it was a cow town. I see you are in the UK... I lived in Cardiff for a few years too.

How about that! These days they've got me living out here in Suffolk county - about an hour and a half from London.

Peterson-Super-Ely (LLanbdr-y-Fro), in the Hedgerows, on a farm (50 head of sheep, 12 Welsh Cobbs, 36 chickens)... Awesome tour!

New Castle in the East Central part of Indiana but I have not lived here since 1968. I was graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville just in time for the draft board to end my dream of being a professor of Ancient History so the coins became my focus as what the British call 'Portable Antiquities'.

The Internet has really changed the hobby. When I was young, I knew no one closer than 50 miles who cared about ancients. It is little better now but Steve in Canada and Martin in the UK are just as close as my neighbor whose hobby is mowing his lawn. I wonder today how many people unknown to me in New Castle have had ancients over the last 50 years. I have been here a few times a year for the last 46 visiting my now 101 year old Mother-in-Law but it is easier to make connections with collectors physically thousands of miles away.

The world is SMALL, Doug! Grew up in Zionsville, had many friends that went to Wabash College! Been to New Castle playing sports! Even examined Banks (with the FDIC) in New Castle and Winchester in my VERY early career... My passion growing up was history; my Jr Hi English Teacher turned my on to Roman History, went to Indiana University and took several Ancient History courses from Dr J Rufus Fears whom instilled a deep passion for Roman and Greek Histories... And, my Mother-in-Law lives with us now.
