Of the bunch, I would be very proud of the Sasanian and the Victorinus Salus. The others are getting better but could be played with the next time the urge hits. I wish I were home (re)shooting coins but that will be a few more days. One of my new coins will take a bunch or reshoots before I'm happy. Sometimes I think the answer is to buy only coins that look easy to shoot.
Terrific 'NEW' photos Bing !! Like everyone else, I almost find it impossible to believe they are the same coins.. You and 'Al' seems to be making incredible strides in improvement.. My photo 'improvement' is still on hold---until I set aside some cash for a few photo necessities...I guess I'll eventually get there too LOL
Somehow, I feel that you enjoy the challenge of tough coins to shoot...and then to bring them to LIFE! Thanks for all your (as well as everyone's) tips, tricks, and ideas! Good learning fodder!
Truly, I appreciate any constructive criticism and the kind remarks. i really dreaded re-imaging all my coins after the computer crash, but it's turning into an addictive labor I am enjoying. Here is a re-shoot of the Aurelian with the light coming from the crown of his head:
LOL, I DREAD following YOU because of the great re-shots you are doing! I have not gotten a solid block of time to shoot all of mine, attribute them, database them, and then (as you keep reminding me), to POST them...
I kept putting it off, but now I look forward to finding a few minutes to re-shoot. It just took getting started (kinda like a diet; you dread it till you start).
QUESTION: Where is a good place to post them ? Besides here on CT... where is a good spot for a "permanent" home online? I have see a couple, just looking for your thoughts...
It's amusing for us Bing! I think that creating your own website for your collection is great. Examples: TIF's website and AJ's.
Thanks, Aidan! I made my site using Wix (www.wix.com). Although I did upgrade to the modestly priced version for more flexibility, the free version has lots of storage space and oodles of templates and apps. It is very easy to use, with drag & drop templates, tons of color and font customization, etc.
I've got half of my ancient collection stored here at CoinTalk in the gallery. You can make albums and set various permissions. I have a few photos from my other collections there also. Makes it easy to post. I include the attribution as a comment to the picture.
VERY useful info everyone regarding the posting sites!!! AND, thank you Mr Bing for letting me momentarily hi-jack your thread... ...And NOW, I will be a good boy, and return the podium back to Der Bingle!
I had to reshoot a coin in my collection that has not been appreciated as much as it should. Although it's one of those must have coins.
