Hello Everyone, Bought a new scope to look at coins, gloomy cloudy day here, so decided to look at some pennies and came across some 1960's pennies. I googled how to tell a small date on the 1960's pennies UGH! looked at Youtube video and it somewhat looked easy but when looking at my pennies it's another story. Can you help? I posted a thread with several pennies I thought looked like a small date but not sure. Will you look at them and tell me? Thank you for your help.
This might be easier to understand. Basically, the end of the upper 9 is rounded on a small date and points downward, also towards the MM if there is one. The large has a blunted upper end of the 9 and points more toward the 6. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1960smalldate.html
My old man went 'crackers' when he found these coins in a grouping of proof sets he ordered from the mint (back in the day).
