I was deleting some old pics from my phone last night when I came across this. If memory serves me well, I think I got this coin a few years ago at an antique shop for about $5-7 I don't think I ever identified who it is. I think it might be Constantius II or Julian II but some guy said that it looked like Valentinian III?? All I can say for certain is that it is an AE-4. Any help would be very much appreciated.
@ JA Lol! I think it has the Emperor holding an orb while facing left. I do think that there is a spear (or shield) in his right hand?
i just bought 4-5 coins in that condition from my coin shop....got them for $2 each. I hope to learn some history wile im at it. firt time paying more then FV for a coin in a long time, and they are ancients... diving in head first.
Well, if I had to guess---and that's all I could possibly do with that particular coin---I'd say Valentinian III I assume there is absolutely no trace of legible lettering at all on either the obverse or reverse???
I don't remember there being any letters that I could see. I do remember that the reverse was very crude.
That is not happening anytime soon Swamp Yank. They are in a safe deposit box a long ways away from me
No, but the wife owns a couple of knitting machines and the danged stuff just rubs off. Steve? Get me outa here.......
