On the upside, I guess I don't spend too much time on eBay any longer.

Good luck on bidding. I think Heritage or teletrade did this before. Can't remember who. Nice looking coin.

It is fairly recent actually. I have yet to bid on these. I think you have to sit around and bid live when the item comes up, correct? Seems like you should be able to put in your bid early, then the computer automatically bid for you like ebay bids work. I do not have time to sit around and wait for an item to come up, and I also do not like the buyer premiums.

It has been going on for years. As mentioned heritage did it years ago and so do several other auction houses. It is simply an auction house that is running a live auction that is allowing bids to be submitted through ebay. You would usually be better off submitting you bids through the auction house's own website Either way you end up having to the pay the houses buyers fee, but since the house has to pay ebay FVF for winning bids submitted through them, the buyers fee is usually HIGHER for ebay bids.

Some houses use this method because they don't have the ability to accept bids through their website.

I got notice of these a little while ago. I got some sort of notice that I could bid.

I wont be bidding on that coin, just a coin that showed up in my feed. It was the idea of the live bidding that most caught my eye. But, now that I look closer:

That coin doesn't look to be PCGS holder or CAC approved. o_O Seller might want to fix the listing title before auction goes live or change the images.

Looks like it is a PCGS hold to me - would be nicer if they included a complete picture of the coin.

I was looking at a live coin event but the coins I saw listed seemed available on Ebay at anytime without the buyer's fee.

The only ones I recall were heritage ones - and they included a buyers premium, but I never used them. I also do not plan on sighing up for the ones in the list that I went thru.

They do include a complete picture of the coin--which to me at least is the important thing. I couldn't care less what the holder looks like.

Yes - the coin is important. But I do like seeing the whole slab - if nothing else I can run the cert verification. Or maybe do a little net searching for sales of the coin.

Ah, yes, probably a Rattler holder. The shadow was throwing me off, I thought it was just in a simple airtite.

It might be a Numistrust slab. From doing a little research on the sellers business he seems to be a promoter of NTC material.

from a local sale he is running on Aug 1st

    And from the NTC website
