They don't need a mint, the have the country of Qatar to handle the minting of their garbage.

If they ever make a coin it will be collected sooner or later. Just look at what is collected from ancient to now

Fun fact. Most of the US debt is owned by the US itself. Not trying to get political I just feel it's always good to know the facts. Here's a chart, a little bit outdated but still works. I think Japan actually passed China in debt owned.

Hong Kong (Total U.S. debt owned: $120.0 billion)
China (Total U.S. debt owned: $1.28 trillion)

One in the same and China is still #1
Japan (Total U.S. debt owned: $1.14 trillion)

Yes China is our largest non-domestic creditor. But something like 68.1% of the debt is owed to to people and programs right here in the US. Yes we owe China $1.28 trillion. We owe the Social Security Trust Fund $2.69 trillion

You have to add Hong Kong to the total. In any Case China will be largest foreign debt holder for a long time to come

Take it up with the treasury then as those are there official statistics of last report and they account them separately.

My guess would be they're minting them on their own. I'm sure they have legitimate looking fronts in Turkey, Lybia and Saudi Arabia to name a few. Some governments know, and some don't. So said, the coin itself is very unimpressive. I wonder where it will become legal tender at, I mean I know we don't want any. I doubt any other countries will accept them as legal tender but you never know.

How sad is that when it's almost a contest or race as to who we owe more.
