I've lost one coin in all these years and it was from Lanz as well. Tracking stopped at ISC NYC and never updated. Got a full refund though, so I can't complain too much.
Well ro, if you paid with Paypal you should be able to get a full refund. Also, I recently purchased a coin from that company which sat for almost 2 weeks in French customs, I'm not sure why. It made its way to my local PO from France in less than 48 hrs. Weird.
Dr. Lanz is a highly reputable dealer. If I were collecting ancients he would be my LCS LOL I wonder why tracking stopped as usually DHL/USPS tracking should work end-to-end. Lost or stolen at the NYC sort facility?
When was the coin posted? I purchased a coin from the same firm on July 2nd and just now received it today.
We have put in a claim this afternoon regards the registered mail ref. RK893309289FR. We sent this one the 3rd of July. You should have received it now. We will let you know as soon as we will have more informations about the postal inquiry in progress. We apologize for all these inconveniences and thank you for your patience and understanding.
I assume the package was stolen at ISC NYC. I had excellent communication with Lanz through the whole ordeal. This is the stolen coin. A few years later I acquired this one instead. I think I made out OK.
My coin sat in the Paris Louvre Ppdc (75) for 12 days from July 2nd to the 14th with no updates or movement. I still think it's highly possible you will receive it. Normally it's only in France a day or two, but for some reason La Poste is very slow this month. Bastille Day?
I had this Trajan denarius disappear in customs... only to re-appear 4 months later postage stamps didn't lie: first one was early November going into customs, second stamp was from the chicago USPS facility in March. Now I'm waiting on the coin below from the same seller. About 3 months so far...
The only coin I had that took several months to be delivered was from a seller in the Netherlands. The package arrived with the US customs' green tape all over it. I assume they thought something more interesting was to be had other than a coin, coming as it was from Amsterdam.
You might think so, but I think his kids or something run it, especially eBay. You should see all the negatives the ebay portion for them has. And they were my biggest issues with missing coins too.
I have lost a couple of coins in the USPS. You have a dozen hoops to jump through but if they are successfully jumps, they will pay. Takes about three months here in the USA.
