Try not to laugh, but about a month ago I had a pretty vivid one. Here's how the dream went (abridged version): I was searching through a coffee can of wheat cents and was getting to the bottom of the can without finding anything good. Then to my surprise I found a 1909-S VDB in F condition but it had a small hole... But right after that I found another 1909-S VDB in VF without problems! I was so excited that I thought it was too good to be true. Then I woke up. Without the two 1909-S VDBs. Too bad. I don't know what's worse- that I was dreaming about coins or that I was grading coins in my dreams and trying to assess value... Has anyone else had coin-related dreams? I sure hope so, or else this means I probably shouldn't be on CT right before I go to sleep!
That's pretty bad brotha. When I worked at Blanchard, I would constantly dream about being at work. I guess that's coin related.
Many times; and always comparable conditions - I'm skin diving around piers, and the bottom is covered with hundreds of coins. They never stand out by date / Silver / Gold tho', just plain coins..........
I have this dream...where Wold World III begins but tactical nuclear weapons were used and people live but buildings, locations are wiped out. We are thrown back into a barter system and I become someone important (in the underground) because of all the silver/gold bars, coins, rounds, that I had acquired in my real life. I buy weapons, ammo, food, supplies, medicine, etc. In the dream I keep counting my stash as to see how much I have left. I wake up and find myself looking at my gold/silver in my vault. This happens twice a week. Some weeks I use gold and some weeks I use silver. I dunno maybe I am just getting old.
Yes - once I dreamed I won the lottery and then bought the Cardinal Collection of large cents - and doug gave me a like.
In all honestly most of my dreams are coin related. I normally search coins right before I go to bed, and seems like alot of my dreams are just about searching and finding something amazing to be woken up and disappointed it did not happen.
I dreamt that I was in a bar/casino in Virginia City, Nevada when a beautiful woman sat down beside me and asked if she could buy me a drink. Naturally, I accepted. We sat there for quite a long time just chatting and drinking. The conversation eventually turned to sexual erotica, and she then sat on top of the bar directly in front of me. I began to tear her dress from her long, willowy body. Suddenly, I woke up and recounted the dream in my mind. I thought to myself, "Nah, that could never happen." As I got off of my barstool, I felt the crunch of some strange things underfoot. I looked down and saw thousands of Morgan silver dollars scattered about the floor. Then, I looked up at the wall and saw that coy look upon her face.
I've had a recurring dream ever since I bought my Nevada property in the late 90's. It's a big piece of dirt, but it has a verified wagon trail on it, and a few large piles of rocks on the hillsides - that appear they may have been stacked during the building of Lahontan Dam (near by) which started in 1907. I keep having a recurring dream of a strong box sitting under the rocks with a bag of Morgans and a few piles of gold coins in it along with some paper currency and bank documents. As soon as I find a way to move ~1000lb rocks, I'm gonna find that strong box! I'll be rich! Rich I say!!! Muahahahaha!!!
I had dream a friend of mine that has passed away many years ago was giving me Morgan dollars . I ask him why , but he never answered he just keep giving me more. My wife had stayed at the Horseshoe casinon that night so I called and told her I was coming over to play the Binion machines.I won 750.00 after 3 pulls.
I had a recurring coin dream some years ago where I was walking along a lake shore and finding several Barber halves, Morgan dollars, wheat cents etc. along the way. I must admit, I loved that dream! In the dream, I would try to stuff as many of the coins in my pockets. The Barber halves, I remember were mostly G4-VG8 condition. Naturally, I would wake up disappointed to find out it was only a dream. Ha, ha!
That's an awful lot like this real-life story. The real one, though, ends with a bit of a nightmare twist.
I once dreamed the U.S. Mint screwed up the rollout of a new issue by drastically underestimating demand and I was able to order some. Oh, wait, that just happened with the Truman Set.
