Man, I love it when I make an early bid and it ends-up running the gauntlet!!

The initial estimate for this cool lion-coin was $100, but I ended-up scoring it for $80 (ummm, I was willing to pay a fair bit more for this sweet meow, so I am very happy with the outcome!!)

Weight: 0.64 grams
Obverse: Head of lion left
Reverse: Helmeted head of Athena right, wearing necklace

Other: 3h … toned, some porosity, a few light scratches

Stevex6 your avatar brings back so many memory of when I was a kid .. Nothing like the 70s and what a time to grow up in .... I can still see the head popping out of the bottom of the boat and hitting the ceiling from fear .. Lol ...

 

The trouble with commenting on one of SteveO's avatars is that he changes them daily, sometimes more than once a day. Occasionally such comments are rendered hilarious when his avatar changes.

 

There's a lion on this coin, similar to Bings. I got it at a local coin show where the lighting was not so good.

I was a little disappointed when I got home, the lion looks more like a poodle.

Here's another coin with a lion. A really small, ferocious little fella.

I have one pretty good lion though.

I bet he wants to eat that bacon wrapped tuna.
