Do you guys think this real? i think this look little odd http://www.ebay.com/itm/171846678860?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Well, I do think that the seller's description is odd. I'm not quite sure what he's saying, but he is saying "...fantasy error...". Item location given as California, but the blurb looks like it's from Guangdong. "1926-D Buffalo Nickel on Cent Planchet are very scarce. Buffalo Nickel struck on a Real cent planchet very rare. A rare opportunity to own Buffalo Nickel on Cent. U.S., pre-1982 blank 3.1 gram copper cent planchet. Fantasy Error on Authentic Planchet. In the U.S. if you own a coin you may alter it. But if you sell it, you must disclose that it was altered."
I don't know, but I'd pass just the same. Like I have stated on several previous occasions concerning other coins, if it is an authentic coin with the potential for considerable value, why hasn't it been authenticated? Chris
He says its a fantasy error, just hoped no one would read the fine print and just bid off the title and picture and from looking at the price, it looked like it worked
The date is laughable. This is some Chinese kid's science project... === You might get the Feds interested in this particular fraud, as it's trying to pass a penny as a nickel, and that's where they step over the line.
Oops! You're right! I missed that. Oh well, it's just another one of those pieces of crap that doesn't have "COPY" on it. Chris
Go to his other items. There what is touted as a 10% offcenter 1915 nickel. Here's his description: "1915 Buffalo Nickel 10% Off Center Error Fantasy Error on Authentic Nickel planchet. In the U.S. if you own a coin you may alter it. But if you sell it, you must disclose that it was altered." There again we have "fantasy error". Now he has them for sale in the category like authentic ones, but apparently he uses this awkward disclaimer to keep the heat off. This one has 24 bids and is at $108.39 now with 20 hours still to go. Notice his feedback - no activity for more than a year.
This is what will continue to happen when other "COPY" crap goes unchecked. Why don't they just legalize counterfeiting, drugs, gambling & prostitution? Chris
You're too late. The CIA has legalized counterfeiting. The Canadian mail-order pharmacies have legalized drugs (plus the state of Colorado). The state of Nevada has legalized gambling and prostitution. Fortunately, it is still illegal for anyone except the end consumer to remove the "contents" tag from a new mattress.
I clicked the link to ebay and after scrolling down this MUST HAVE was there smiling at me http://www.ebay.com/itm/5c-1943-Jef...996337&pid=100012&rk=3&rkt=10&sd=171846678860

that one isn't as bad though. granted I think a roll is only worth about $60. but selling a single nickel for major damage for $700 is little....out there. unless he knows something I don't
