20k over melt may buy it, but maybe not. That is a monster coin believe it or not. Though I'm sure that you already knew that.

Check this coin out, clean grade, CAC sticker. I own this coin and like it's look, But do YOU think it's a problem coin? I wouldn't fault you if you do:

The scratch is a problem, but I don't necessasarily disagree with the clean grade. It is a circulated coin that looks like it should for being nearly two hundred years old.

Looks like it could have had a light cleaning in the past, I would have expected more hairlines though. The surfaces are very questionable though.

    In what way?

The major problem most people have is the parallel scratches, but for me, I dont know why, it doesnt really bother me at all. On other coins, a rim hit might make me go mental. I guess everyone has their deal-breakers.

could be just the photos, I thought the color was off suggesting it may have been cleaned. I did not mean fake :)

Still works as a cheaper filler for a type set...

While I personally don't think the scratch is egregious enough to warrant a details slab, I do think it's enough that the coin should've been dropped to VF30 or not get the CAC sticker. Still a pretty penny, though.

String broke, and coin launched into oblivion? (for 200 years ;) )

My 'problem' coins are the hundred I have that are marginally over face value - can't spend 'em, and hardly worth keeping, taking up space!

Here's one that I like to call "Rim Bumps Galore" as a nod to the James Bond girl with a slightly more scandalous name. I count at least 5 bumps on this ol' gal.
