Wow 2015 RP Roosevelt coin of the Century. how can this be? They sold 74,848 of the roosevelts sets. A better bet would be the 2015 reverse proof Truman. I say this because a lot of people are collecting the presidential proof sets. and the US mint blew it and only minted / sold 16,825 sets of the chronicles. I am looking for this to keep increasing in price once collectors realize they need or want a complete set. I for one have two complete sets of pf 70's and will keep all I can get. I really feel that investing in this coin would be smart. Rumor is that the balance of the coin and chronicles will have their mintages increased. All my rules for collecting indicate that this 2015 Truman Reverse proof will be the coin of the century.
It will sit right besides the COC of the 20th century http://www.ebay.com/sch/Modern-Silver-Clad-1982Now-/179533/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=1982
I happen to think that the dollar is beautiful. I'll take them if you are going to just throw them away. I'm new to this site but have been collecting U.S. coins for over 40 years. From what I've read so far,all you people do is cut each other down. Think I'll keep looking for a decent coin site.
Its just the U.S. collectors that do it. if you go to the world/ancients forum you wont see it so much.
It's usually the same people over and over thread after thread; but it's nothing the ignore feature can't take care of though.
That's on my to do list, photo my collection - but, I have to dig it out of the multiple SDB's, so someday I'll post pics.
This is a great site, regardless of what you may think, there are some great folks here on the site. If you want brutal honesty on a coin piece, you'll get it here. We have some seasoned collectors and even Daniel Carr drops in from time to time. That always causes interesting conversation on the board. I am betting the Coin of the Century will be one no one is expecting. Thanks to the MoD sets, I am on a proof Roosevelt set to put together. Collecting is infectious.
I got my one set this weekend from the first backorder period. The coins look nice with no obvious major flaws (though the dollar has a ding on the capsule). I really like the look of the RP dime, particularly the reverse. Rob
They were in 2005 to 2010 uncirculated mint sets. Many sets were broken up and the coins sold in rolls in the secondary market.
I agree with Silver house, people on this site are free to give thier opinions which create a different perspective. The wisest man knows he has much to learn. This site gives me other collectors perspective, I don't get offended even if that is someones objective. I realize I only have the power to soak up other members ideas. If I was so smart I would own ten sets of the Silver eagle 10th anniversary sets. I love collecting, and I love the chase. I love this site
Thanks. Appreciate the info. Is it the same for the Cameo and deep Cameo coins ???? I am assuming it is.
Wow, we're talking about satin cents on the CoC thread...... Hey, the MoD sets were popular for a couple of months though.
You are correct. Somehow, we just eased over to questions on satins / cameo's. We digress. I ordered and received 2 sets of MoD. Intended to start an Ebay site and sell off the second silver set. Still intending,..... maybe tomorrow or the next day. For the RP dime is pretty.
