Here is the recent South Korean commemorative 3-coin issue for that country's 70th anniversary of liberation from the Empire of Japan in 1945. The three coins are designed so that when they are placed side by side, they form a semblance of a larger design. You can see "palace" doors on the 20-thousand and 10-thousan Won coins on the left and right, opening upon a vista of a rising sun and a river on the 50-thousand Won coin.

I haven't ever seen something like this before... Have you?

You can even shape the coins so that they snugly fit. ;) Euro Football Cup 2012 (see here). The upper "puzzle" is four 10 zł coins, the lower one consists of a Polish and a Ukrainian piece. Not my images but taken from the central bank site.

That reminded me of a particular commemorative coin. For some reason I just cannot remember where it is from - likely to be from Africa or Pacific Island.

The joke is that while the map of the country is shown on two coins (if I recall correctly), because of how they had to be pieced together as one - it just seems that it was on the verge of breaking up any time soon.

Dude nice coin. On a totally different point...your avatar pic...is this is of you or some random pic you used for your avatar? The reason I ask is that the avatar looks like a guy I knew back in '79-'82 at Bitburg Middle School, Germany. His name was Morgan and he was a bully. I fought and chipped a tooth but fought him to a tie (he was much bigger than I) and he never bothered me again. As a matter of fact he respected me for facing up to him and after school I never found out what became of him. But GOD is my witness, it looks exactly like him. Morgan is that YOU?

No. It is not I. The pic is some hipster photo I found on the internet.

The search for Morgan goes on...
