So I'm new to selling on eBay. I sold a few coins and offered combine shipping .. This might sound stupid , now that this buyer has purchased these coins how do I send a invoice with only the one shipping cost ? I have no idea how to do this. Thanks for any help !!
Click on send invoice. It gives the option to combine purchases, and let's you review shipping costs, etc. Just change it to what you want.
Send Invoice should be the largest of the listed options that form a drop down menu at the far right of the item, when you are viewing it in 'sold listings'.
If the buyer paid for one or more items from you already the combine shipping option will not appear. Just give the buyer a refund through PayPal for the subtracted shipping costs and include a message explaining it. Make sure your listing information is clear on your combined shipping option, but don't expect buyers to bother reading it. Most don't.
We'll I figured out that you cant send a invoice via ebays mobile app! Since my laptop has crashed , I've been using my phone .. So after reading online a bit I figured out the only way I could send a invoice would be if I download icabmobile... So that's what I had to do , it allowed me to bring up the Classic eBay with all the options , which I found the send a invoice button no problem .. It cost me 1.99 to down load this app , it's not a big deal but you would think eBay would update there app .. Here I was selling items , offering combine shipping and couldn't even do so using ebays app or even if I access there site threw Safari it wouldn't allow me to.
eBay's app is a lost cause. I was trying to use it a year or two ago, and it was missing many critical features. They rolled out a new version, but it was so terrible -- flaky, buggy, and removing existing features -- that they actually had to retract it and put the old version back up, as I recall. I don't know why you had to download iCab Mobile, though. You should have been able to go to eBay through the browser built into your phone; it'll ask you if you want to use the app instead, but you don't have to say "yes". It may also present you with a "streamlined" (crippled) version of the eBay interface, but there should be a link toward the bottom saying "use full site" or something to that effect.
I tryed every thing I could think of , then found an article online a guy was having the same problem and said he had to download icabmobile .. The buyer was ready to pay , I was getting frustrated .. Just one of those things , I guess I expected eBay to have there crap together !! You may be right , I just couldn't get the option to send a invoice any of the ways I was trying .. I guess it was well worth the 2 bucks for the app , it let's me bring up eBay as if I were using my laptop.
If it helped you keep a customer happy -- especially a multiple-purchase customer -- it was money well-spent. Yeah, you might have found a way to make it work without spending that money, but you would've kept your customer waiting longer. I think you made a good call; I'm glad it worked out.
All eBay invoices allow the seller to add or deduct charges. If all else fails make the adjustment for the combined shipping in that block and preview the invoice before sending to the buyer. Also add a message to the buyer that you made the adjustment for combined shipping in that block, which they will be able to view. Check the box that allows for you to receive a copy of the invoice sent to the buyer. If the buyer has already made the payment, and has paid full shipping for each item; send the refund via paypal. Add a note to the buyer explaining what the partial refund is for. This has always worked for me. Making a partial refund via paypal is very easy.
Just remember...eBay takes a cut in the shipping charges too so factor that if you are partial refunding as eBay will hit you for both shipping charges for their cut.
I exclusively use my phone for ebay and their app doesn't offer any features. As stated earlier, you can go to their website and choose Classic Site and do the same things as on a computer.
Go to your Ebay Seller Settings. You have to indicate in your preferences that you are willing to combine shipping. It will then give you that option after multiple purchases. I just did this after setting up my store.
