I'm not looking for one. I was just wondering if anyone wanted to post an image of one of NCI's photo certs. I seem to recall they were pretty controversial.

The CoinVault slab is in the book, it is in the Miscellaneous section. It was not a grading service, it was a holdering service. At the time most services used photocertificates and CoinVault would put your coin in a protective slab with a photo and the serial number from the photocertificate. There are two varieties of CoinVault slab, and the company has no connection to the Coin Vault TV show.

That ACG is not like anything I have seen before and as you point out it has a mix of features from different eras. There is one thing about it though that may explain it. Note the serial number is in a smaller font than normal, about 2/3 the normal size. As you noticed that mentioned on ACG 14a. The smaller size font for the serial number was something Hagar used for coins for his personal collection. This is apparently something he made up for himself. That would explain the different "parts". They were what he had available. (Except the Accugrade Guide label is not like anything used on any other photoslab. Almost like he just made it up for this slab.)

 

On closer examination, such as with a loupe, you can see that the background isn't solid, nor is the lettering.

There is a very faint light blue or teal shadow WNW on each letter. There is also a teal and red shadow S and left half of a U between the KE and SU of "STRIKE SURFACE"

The yellow border has very faint red and teal dots and those dots continue outside to the cut edge.

If I had to hazard a guess, an older label was scanned and printed on a 600 dpi inkjet printer.
