So around June 12th I won a anacs buffalo nickel on eBay .. A few days went by before the item was marked as shipped.. The seller is in Illinois and I'm in Kentucky , so this shouldn't have been much of a wait. So after the tracking hadn't changed in over a week I contacted the seller.. He told me the local post office sometimes forgets packages and it will be on it's way .. I thought this was strange but I'd give it a few more days .. So now it's going on 2 weeks , I sent the seller another message this morning , he hasn't replied back yet .. I've recieved items from all over that I ordered days after this item , how much longer should I wait ? It's now 4 days past delivery date ... Tracking still says the same thing !
I think you've waited long enough. I'd maybe give him a courtesy 24 hour warning and then open up a case.
Label printed 20 days ago? Spoke to the seller twice? I wouldn't give him any more chances. Open a case for item not received. Now. There's no valid excuse for this. If it's really at the post office, it's his problem. Let him deal with it.
I paid for the item on the 10th of this month , the 12th is when he gave a tracking number and marked as shipped .. So it been 12 days since I won the item. I first contacted him about 7 days after I paid and again today. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I mean come on ! It's not a high value item , it's a 1936s AU 55 buffalo I got for 9 bucks .. I've got both the other 36 buffalos in anacs holders in AU and even though there not big money coins, I thought it'd be neat to have all 3.. I got the other two for around the same price range . So it seems around 10 bucks in what there selling for ..
2 weeks after shipped is more than enough time, open a case. You will win since it has not shown as shipped.
Funny I got a notice from Ebay on "how they protected my account". I had one case, he tried to open it before he could and then did as soon as he could. Wouldn't even give it a few days to get there. Kind of fishy, maybe tried to open after he saw no tracking. Another one asked if I shipped the coin and if I had tracking. He paid $3.75 for a Mercury dime. I told him I sent it and should have provided tracking and charged him $2 plus the cost of a bubble mailer and he went away lol.
For what it is worth, I once shipped out of a little podunk post office every now and then, and they too had issues (although not commonplace) with following through. The tracking should, at least, show the package has been received by his post office;if not, well, then perhaps it is time to press a little harder, but still I would wait until he responds before making any decisions.
Your "2 weeks" is actually 6 business days. Had the PO received it, I would be a little more patient, but that is still long enough to wait for him to get it to the PO. I would file.
I paid for the coin on the 10th , counting from the 11th till today thats 8 business days plus the mail runs on Saturday .. That's more than enough time , but I'm not going to do anything as of yet! The seller just message me a hour or so ago and stated he agrees there's a problem and said he will contact the post office and get back to me in the morning .. I going to give the guy a chance, if I don't hear back from him tomorrow I will ask for a refund .. I don't wanna get ahead of myself as it may have been mailed on the 12th and the post office screwed up .. If that's the case I will give him the opportunity to simply refund my money. I wanna give every chance to either get my coin or my money and only get eBay involved as a last option!!
Exactly what I would do. I might even let it go a bit longer because with a $9 coin, what are the odds the seller is trying to scam you?
There's no question in my mind that the seller sat on the package for 11 days. Why? Only the seller knows.
It may not have been actually taken to the PO until then. When you create a shipping label online, you get the first 2 entries in the tracking he shows. Then until it's scanned at the PO, it won't create another entry. So he very well could have not taken it to the PO for another 11 days.
Makes sense to me.......here I was blaming it all on the postal service. Just a thought........maybe the guy went on vacation? Still, no excuse for that. He should have communicated with the OP.
