1966 clip

    Ah, that's looking like someone didn't like that coin. It's not a straight clip. I could be wrong. Just hang out awhile. Whenever I'm wrong, at least 25 people come on and flame my ass for it. :D

    Actually, if anything could be called a "clip" then the OP's coin is it in that someone literally clipped off a portion of it. More than likely with some wire clippers.

    A real "clip" is actually an "incomplete planchet" where the strip that the planchets are gang punched from does not feed forward the proper amount and the punch gets forced through an area of the strip that has a hole from the previous punch.

    There are specific diagnostics for certain materials in determining an authentic "clip" and one of those diagnostics is that the "clipped" area does not come to a point in the thickness of the clipped area such as the op's coin. The edge would be completely vertical.
