Howdy folks So I've been selling a few items on eBay , but I keep having problems out of a certain lady that works at my local post ! I've been mailing my items in 6x9 brown envelopes , with the item wrapped in bubble wrap. So there are 4 different lady's that work at this postoffice , all but this one is very nice, I never Have any problems out of the other 3. Every time I take a package and this lady is working she always , pushing , bending , fingering my packages being really nosey about what I'm sending ! She doesn't wanna let me ship the packages for the 2.54 , as I aways do with the other 3 workers. It's always something , my packages don't meet here requirements for a parcel , I would be paying 5 bucks for each package and tracking if didn't argue that I haven't been paying that and won't pay that .. I've tried explaining I receive packages from all over that are the same as what I'm shipping , with tracking for 2.54. I'm always nice to this lady but it doesn't seem to help, it's getting to the point that I'm feed up with her but really don't know if there's anything I can do to help !
1) There are many avenues you can take via the USPS web site to address your issue(s). 2) Perhaps asking for a supervisor or Post Master at your post office may help. 3) Using another service, i.e. FedEx, UPS...
I used to deal with a VERY similar lady at my old post office. I refused to go to her anymore. If she was the next cashier available and I was next in line, I would just tell the person behind me to go ahead, and I would wait for another clerk. I think she transferred eventually... I guess she went to wherever you are.. haha
A worker at my local usps told me to put a small piece of cardboard in the package too. He told me that allows it to meet all the requirements to be shipped for 2.54
Do what I used to do with the PITA's -- wait for another clerk. I remember once someone told me I could go ahead of them.. I looked, saw who it was and said "No thanks" and we both turned to the next person and told them to go ahead. They we both broke up laughing. Strangely, my wife never had a problem with her-- but then Ilene can get along with the devil himself. Thankfully, she has retired. [not Ilene, the clerk. ]
My situation with the evil worker was similar. I ship in small padded envelopes (and I wrap the coins in bubble wrap inside). She was able to push (pretty hard) my package through the measuring tool, and said since it fit through there I had to pay extra. I wanted to tell her if I tried hard enough I might be able to fit her into some size 12 pants, but she was certainly not even close to a 12 or smaller. hehe
Well it's getting to the point I've gotta do something , I'm in a small town so all four don't work the small day , it will be two one day and two another.. I had made up my mind today that I would wait on another worker if she was there today but when I walk in there wasn't anyone at the front , so after standing there a minute she was that came up to wait on me. I live almost next door to the postoffice , so I though about asking the other lady's when that lady works so I can just avoid her and ship my items the days when she isn't there!
Just ask for someone else if she is the only one to come up to you. It will make her look pretty bad to her supervisor.
I use either PayPal shipping (for non eBay items) or print a label directly through eBay, you get a shipping discount that way. I then put the label on the package and just drop it in the bin. I never have to speak to any of them.
I haven't found any cheap shipping options on E-Bay. $2.54 is what I paid also at USPS. All the options I found on E-Bay were at least twice that price. On large items I ship through E-Bay. I could have missed it.
I select First Class Thick Envelope. I use the bubble wrap mailers. The last envelope I mailed was a 4x7 bubble wrap mailer weighing 1.5 ounces. It cost me $2.04
That would be great if I could do that , my laptop has been down over a month now ! It's really a headach using eBay with just a phone and this hateful postal worker is just making selling a few coins even more of a pain !
I think the postal service issues one of those ladies to every post office. I've had them to pull a ruler out and measure width, length and height.
What can you really do with ex-Hitler youth? Just wait until they start screaming "Nein! Nein! Nein!!!" the second you walk in the door..
Yeah I just found it on E-Bay. Thanks. The lady at the post office says you can print your own label also at USPS.com. She said they also discount their rates online. Has anyone used USPS.com?
Ask to speak to the supervisor as this clerk is WAY out of the realm of her responsibilities. Your only obligation in describing the contents of what you are mailing is nothing more than stating if its Liquid, fragile, perishable, or hazardous. Nothing more and nothing less. It is NOT her business in what you send and she needs to be made aware of this fact!
Isn't wrapping a coin in bubble wrap inside of a padded envelope a bit of overkill? I usually put the coin in a 2x2 flip taped to a piece of cardboard inside a 6x9 padded envelope, then send using first class thick envelope/package postage. At my PO you can just lay the labeled envelope on the end of the counter and walk out the door without any personal interaction. You can also print postage labels directly through Paypal (without the discount) if you aren't using ebay.
DO NOT DO THAT! Speak to the Postmaster about her invasion of your privacy regarding her unauthorized activities.
