    What is a 'letter transfer'?

Any experience with an error like this? Ideas?

Someone elsewhere just said, "No" (letter transfer), but negations mean 'nothing', with 'declarations' - like what politicians do ;) , and someone else thought it was a hole drilled 'thru' [through ?] it. Drills usually make round holes, and 'through' usually means 'all the way' (though). And of course, nothing on backside, so it's not a 'charm' either.

Being oval, and raised, looks like a letter. Transferred???

Certainly looks like damage to me. Can we see the reverse?

Anyone know what a 'letter transfer' is?

What would the reverse show there jeffB?

Possibly a bulged-out or flattened and worn area corresponding to the hit on the front.

This is PMD, any drop lettering error on the obverse would need to come from the obverse and the " O " in god is to small for what going on here . Counter-stamp is what I see ...

    Nop; not a hole jeffB.

Looks like someone put a nail through it and then pounded the hole shut, then. Or tried to start a hole from both sides. I don't have the coin in hand, of course, but those images scream "puncture damage".

Well, glad to disappoint ya' there jeffB ;) Detectives in your local PD have job security (if LEO is the correct acronym).

    What's a counter-stamp Rick S?

If it's not a holed coin what is it then?

I answered in the other thread (no) but am glad you started your own. No reason to deal with that "hillbilly" nonsense.

So, when you say "it's not a hole", I assume you mean that you can't see through it. If I get some time, I'll try putting a nail through a penny or something, and show you what I mean.

My tag is a pun on Gresham's Law, from the days when I spent more time searching through change.

Grow a spine? This from the schmuck who tastelessly refers to an apparent newbie as a "hillbilly" and once found the need to fluff himself with claims of being like "Bruce Banner"? Had I said anything in the other thread you surely would have whined, as evidenced by the past, that you were being harassed, yet here you are injecting your sweage into the "hillbilly's" thread; ironic, isn't it.

As for "fleeing the scene like a coward"... well, who would when the self-described "CoinTalk Hulk" is ready to burst through the screen (roll eyes here). Seriously though, don't flatter yourself; not everyone signs into CT wearing their hip boots, so sometimes it is best to simply let children play in their little fantasyland.

Here we go again, another epic battle. I love how your defense is to conjure up lies to belittle me. Schmuck? Please come up with another insult! Or are you scared of the mod squad? Hey man grow a pair. If i thought you were any older i might lay off, unlike you I respect my elders BUT since we are both acting childish EVERYTIME we meet in a thread I know you cant be that old. Otherwise I would let it go. Kinda like when driving your mercedes and someone cuts you off, unlike you I actually look for a handicap sticker before i go making obscene gestures and gettin all ignant..You should change your name to comics before coins. Please excuse my uptight, rude obnoxious argumentative arch nemesis folks. He ignant

Anyone with eyes and half a brain can see what we have here. I am not the one who came here to argue, nor am I the one to start the BS. My initial comment to the OP, a NEW member and one we should at least try to welcome, was directed at and only meant for him. I don't know if you just think you're cute calling him a "hillbilly" or his coin "junk" but it's uncalled for. The guy wasn't being rude, but was just asking a simple question.

As for the rest of this crap, big surprise! You cock off, spew a few insults, get a little taste in return, and then play victim, all while continuing on with the lame attempt at cuteness. "Ignant"? Yes, indeed and on full display for all to see.

Cmon man just admit it, you showed up to my thread looking to stir the pot. Im not the ONLY hillbilly on here that youve argued w in the past.
Learn this! Screen shot it. Write it down. Spell it out in magnets on your fridge! Live by it. Feel it. Taste it. Oh wait, THAT taste is already in your mouth.:yuck:

It looks almost like someone was experimenting on it with a spot welder. It looks like it blew silver out on each side. Then it was filled. But it certainly looks like it was caused by intense heat.
