need help with identification of Vespatian

    I don't think that's it Mat. The reverse looks like Roma and I can make out COS VIII on the obverse legend. It may be:
    RIC 994 Vespasian AE Sestertius. 77-78 AD. IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M TR P P P COS VIII, laureate head right / ROMA S-C, Roma standing left, holding Victory & spear.

    But this is really a guess.

    Look at the right hand side, arm is low like Spes hitching her skirt, not up like the roma with spear.

    You may be right about Spes, but I believe I'm correct about "COS VIII"

    Looks about right. I think you just linked to the same coin as Mat. RIC 1011 = Cohen 460 :).
