    Yup => a mere $37 bucks (delivered) for this sweet Julian II

    Yah, I thought that the portrait was very cool (the dude looks kinda crazy) ... but when I also discovered that the reverse exergue was kinda rare => I pulled the friggen-trigger!! => *pop*

    There was a recent Julian II thread, so I'll understand if you're all out of steam ... but if you have some game left in ya

    => then please post your examples!! (yessssss)

    Diameter: 19.8 mm
    Weight: 3.1 grams

    yah, apparently the VRB ROM exergue is not as common as most of these Julian II cats ... meoooowwww!!

    That's a great coin, Steve, and I think you're right about the mint mark. I haven't seen it very often. My most recent Julian II is an FH, while he was Caesar. I don't think Constantius II expected much more from him than being a figurehead. He turned out to be very intelligent and astute. It's too bad he met an early demise - I sometimes wonder what the Roman Empire would have been like if Julian had served a longer tenure.

    i have a julian ii vot but i can't find my pics of it right now...you're not missing much anyway.

    that's a cool little coin stevex...the mint mark caught my eye right away.
