Howdy folks I came across a barber dime that is graded ms63 by NNC , now I know this company over grades fairly often.. I have read a few crossover articles about a collector submitting 5 nnc coins to pcgs , with the results being that one crossed and the other 4 crossed under.. It's seemed pcgs downgraded them by 1-3 points on average.. So what would you guys grade this coin, I don't believe it's a 63 but maybe 61/62 !
Hard to tell, but looks AU, possibly Plus a scratch on the reverse, under the IM of DIME and possibly something removed or scratches, in the right obv field, in front of Liberty's face.
So are you saying it's a problem coin and wouldn't cross to a tpg? I've heard a lot about them down grading these but not them crossing out ..
Yes - they will contain problem coins a lot of times. As for this one being one, I can't say for sure.
Hard to tell by the photos but I'll take a guess that there appears to be some clashing in the reverse fields. Looks like an A.U otherwise.
AU55-58 at best. Those three lines in the field behind the cap by ITED could be scratches that land this on in a bodybag. Sell raw.
Don't bother with that mess. If you do, take the NNC grade and subtract by 10. So only pay AU53 money (raw) for the coin.
Cleaned and not MS , kind of ugly in the pic and I don't say that often . I'd leave it unless you can get her for $8 .
I could get the coin for low AU price , but if it wouldn't grade at another company atleast au53 I'm gonna stear clear. Thanks for the help everyone. I guess all nnc and less respected companys coins arnt bad , just gotta be picky with them huh?
