large cent guess the date

    Here is a junker large cent.

    I can see the weak remains of the last last digit under a real strong glass enough to know at least. Its a narrow range of possibility here , but guess away if you like.

    I won't venture to guess the date but even with the crud on the back it's actually not that bad looking of a coin. There are much uglier higher grade coins more deserving of a sticker. Considering large cents were phased out in 1857 I wonder how it got that much wear.

    mhpd2_90.JPG I bought a couple cull lots and have dateless large cents where I tried to find out the date. It was futile. I would just call it 185_. I got some of these. Can you tell this date? lol

    the coin is question is an 1850 the last digit is weakly visible under a microscope.

    You know there are a few people around here who if they had the time they could probably tell you the date - based off attributions. I am not one of those people - too impatient to learn it that good. :)

    There are some you know the date even though the date isn't present. You know this booby head is 1839.
