Sorry, that's all I got. But welcome to this forum. Some of the more sage members may have something more to add when they happen by.
A few more on coinproject http://www.coinproject.com/global_search_db.php?keyword=Harpocrates&submit=submit
Isn't Harpocrates (hellen-ised Horus) the god of silence? finger to lips shhhhhhh. And the big question: is this where Harpo Marx gets his name? Or is it because he played the harp? Also, a stretch connection but I want to post my latest Isis coin Ptolemy V Epiphanes. 205-180 BC. Æ Tetrobol 27mm, Alexandreia mint. Struck circa 197-183/2 BC. Wreathed and draped bust of Isis right / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt. Svoronos 1234; Weiser 130; SNG Copenhagen 247
another cool Isis coin (reverse is her throne/hat) ANTIOCHOS VII EURGETES (Sidetes) AE, 138 - 129 B.C.E. SNG Spaer 1980, 19.3mm, 5.76 grams Obverse: Bust of Eros to right, dotted border Reverse: Headress of Isis, crescent and star below, inscrptions to side, control mark on left
Because of this thread I've look in the "usual" places for this coin but have come up empty. Have you seen a Caracalla from Tyre with Harpokrates reverse or are you just hoping to find such a coin?
90% sure I do have Caracalla. Tyre, with Harpocrates. A little more cleaning and I will know for sure. Looking for an example. Yes on Wildwinds.
I've looked through Wildwinds, CoinArchives, CoinProject, ACsearch, and CNG and haven't found a Caracalla with Harpokrates/Harpocrates from Tyre. Caracalla does have Harpokrates reverse for other regions and cities though: Augusta Traiana, Serdica, Atallia, Alexandria, maybe others. Might you have an Elagabalus? The portraits and legends are often confusing. I don't see and Elagabalus/Harpokrates from Tyre either but he has one from Philippopolis.
IMPMAVRANTON ---- Very Readable. Elagabalis rev. is correct, Not ob. My rev, Standing fig. right hand to mouth, Alter below right, Cornucopiea in left arm. Rev needs cleaning, starts SI or SL, end COL.
