$25,000 in profit? What did you do, corner the market? Lol.

Anyway, I heard they're giving away balloons with the FIRST RELEASE editions, now. It may just be a rumor. Balloons always perk up slipping sales, though, principally because, well, let's be real about it, everybody loves balloons.

I can't remember exactly how many boxes we bought... 35-40 sets I believe... sent in for grading, was selling 70's for $1.2k a pop... We knew the floor was falling out so we sold sealed 2 boxes (5 sets) for $5k a piece.

Good thing we had 1) cash, 2) huge demand 3) a BIG family

Sorry Eddie, I lied.... we cleared $27,000 in Sales on 28 sets, profit $18,600... with at least 5 sets in hand that I know of....

Shipping those were dreadful... we had to order custom boxes.

Ah, it's an innocent mistake, not a lie. Lies are intentional. That's still a very respectable margin at the end of the day.

Wow. Hard to believe there's that many people chasing 70s for that much premium. Insane.

If you consider the fact that many ebay auctions are selling multiple sets you have tens of thousands of sets already sold on ebay- add to that the certified coins sold and I'd say that way more than half of these have already changed hands on ebay and found their way into collector hands. Yet demand is not slacking!

I don't see raw sets going below $100, so I just bought another 5 in an unopened box to put away for the kids.

So you sold sets for just under a thousand dollars a set?

Graded sets $1,200ish (MS-70s). We only got a tad under $1,000 for graded MS-69 so we just sold sealed boxes for $5k a pop.

    So yes

Here's where a ton of those sets that have changed hands are going. Right into the hands of speculators. That's why demand isn't slacking. The speculators are stocking up and creating what appears to be high demand when in reality all they're doing is creating high prices.

The sad part is going to be when they try to get their money out of them and flood the market thereby driving the prices into the ground.

It's way too early to declare these sets a winner. You have to wait and see what happens after all of the sets are dispersed from the Mint at least.

But I have said all of this before.

My guess (and that's all it is) is that the Mint will issue a RP Proof Set with the coins coming from the Philadelphia Mint and released after the Coin and Chronicles sets are sold.

What's unfortunate about that is that it will be the same RP as this MoD set and the same Presidential Dollars as the Coin and Chronicles sets and many collectors who bought special sets thinking they'd have exclusive coins are going to be REALLY, REALLY angry about it.

LOL. The mint would be shooting itself in the foot if it did that, but that wouldn't be unheard of.

Looks like it will be an S-Mint set.
