I've been looking for a 1971 FAO Sophia Loren medal in bronze or gilded. If anyone knows a dealer or has seen it on a site, please let me know.

I have checked eBay but no luck. Also looked at a few websites with no result. Whatever help is appreciated.

Is that the artist's name along the rim? Have you tried searching for the artist on eBay. I realize that you might get hits on different medals, but sometimes you might get lucky.

I can't make out the name on the rim. I searched for just about every keyword under the sun for this medal. I have seen it only once on ebay. It's not an extremely rare medal but sometimes it's under Italy, FAO, Sophia Loren, etc. The search is on.

The medal was designed by Georges Simon and struck by the Paris Mint, if this will help.

I remember seeing this photo ages ago. In case you don't know, Paddy, that's Jayne Mansfield standing and "green-with-envy" Sophia Loren seated.
