    Holding the money for a few days
    You know he is a fraudster ? Holding the money for a few days do you here your self who playing fraudster now

    Yes, I have dealt with him before. There is also threads on the pcgs forum where the scammer has been talked about.

    Great let all of us know the Ebay name so we know. I would still send the refund and get him out of my life

    When i first contacted ebay they wouldnt remove the negative he left me. I contacted ebay and they were unaware of the possible scam. Then about a month later the negative was gone and so was the record of the entire transaction. All i temember was the enay acct was rehistered to a guy in oregon or washington. Then there was a thread on the pcgs forum with the same guy same story from the same area. They win the coin on ebay and then send money through paypal and ask to ship it to japan. They are real nice at first and then when you nix the sale they leave negative feedback.

    I'd talk to ebay but I would definitely try to cancel the sale. You should be able to since the buyer didn't pay through ebay the way he should have. Heck you got 4 red flags there so hopefully ebay sees your point of view and allows you to cancel the sale. Why the $50 extra, I mean that's a really loud red flag but knowing ebay they're likely to say something stupid like there's no law against it. Just cancel the sale with or without ebay and whatever you do, don't ship that coin. $50 dollars extra, that just smells really bad! soapbox_smilie.gif Good luck with your bad luck sale!!

    I had the same problem with a buyer from China. Shipped registered, well packaged and for some reason it went to Ghana first and then on to China at which point the buyer said the coin was missing but package did not looked tampered with. Short story, I won but did call on ebay to help. Please do not ship only to find ebay may not find in your favor or buyer does a charge back. Be safe , not sorry, cancel the transaction.

    Just mail them and tell them you need a US post address, and they have to pay you thru ebay. If they are legit, and want it bad, they will comply. Thats what I do.

    Call ebay before you do anything. Don't ship, don't refund. Call ebay.
    Be smart and let ebay guide you on the best way to go.

    I'd call eBay. Tell them exactly what is going on. If eBay say's send it, send it. But only after eBay confirms that if you get a chargeback through PayPal, that they will step up and make it right for you. If they refuse to back you, then cancel the transaction. If you cancel the transaction, notify the buyer that they did not use the proper channels to complete the transaction and that neither one of you will be protected via eBay for buyer and seller protection. If they wan't to complete the transaction then they should go through the proper channels.

    Here's what I did. First I refunded the payment through paypal. Then I canceled the auction on ebay. Then I sent the winner this email, "Since you are out of the U.S. AND since you only have 2 previous transactions AND since you did not pay through ebay I am canceling the transaction and refunding your paypal payment. This item is too valuable for me to take the chance that it might get "lost in the mail" and having you requesting a refund, leaving me with no coin and no money. Sorry." Finally I got this response from the winner, "You right my feedback is too low, however I'm is a good user. Thank anyway for refund". So, I guess it worked out ok.

    Since this thread got hijacked by someone who had a bad experience with someone who is now labeled a "Fraudster", I want to make it clear that I do not think the individual I dealt with was the same person or was trying to commit fraud. I have no reason to believe that he was not on the up and up. My main concern was what I told him, "This item is too valuable for me to take the chance that it might get "lost in the mail" and having you requesting a refund, leaving me with no coin and no money."

    Indeed, I would've done the same thing. I would not have touched that one with a 53' pole.
