    image.jpg Hey folks
I came across this coin I'm interested in. It's listed as being a unc MS coin. So I'd like to get some opinion as to what you guys think , problem free, grade , ect ? image.jpg

Depends on what that line from the bottom of the E to the top of the M is on the reverse. I don't think I'd bid MS money on it though because the picture doesn't really show any luster, except possibly in the protected areas. It's also weirdly lit.

With pictures like that I'd be leery of purchasing the coin.

I would not buy the coin from images like that. Not worth the risk.

Yeah, looks like a die crack. Die crack does not = problem free in my book. I'd pass like the others before me.

I think the image is due to use of a USB type of magnifier. The lack of luster and the mild pitting under the jaw and elsewhere might mean heavy dipping to remove corrosion ( Altered surfaces).

    Thanks for the advise everyone.
Since the seller accepts returns , I was thinking of taking a chance if the price was right. It seems the bid is now a bit higher than I was willing to go .. Probably a good thing!
    Thanks again

Also on Liberty's cheek, it looks like there's a big rub from just below the eye to just above the jaw line.

The die crack shouldn't affect the grade.

Well guys I didn't buy the dime , it was tough to tell about it from those photos so I passed. I did come across some nickels that I end up purchasing .. Now before anyone starts bashing me for buying these ( I understand these are not ms70 coins) the seller taped over the grade on these slabs, stated he didn't want to mislead anyone. All four of these coin appear to be unc , even though not one of these coins will grade what SGS has labeled them as I feel I got a great deal. image.jpg

Too bad about the Barber as she was a nice coin before she was dipped to death , possibly to remove some dark toning .

Yeah, I like the war nickels better than the Barber dime. At least the bottom two show some luster. I'd want to see better, individual, well-lit pics of each one before I bid on the lot, but I'd "take a chance if the price was right" on these before I would the dime. :)

I figured since the seller was honest enough to tape over the grade on the sgs slabs , that he would be when listing them as unc. Most of these sgs coin you see even though they are extremely over graded they are unc though. I'd be happy with a few ms63/64 out of the group, seller noted one has full steps so considering what I payed 10.55 plus S/H I believe I done great.

I'd agree with that 100%. Even if they're all MS60, you basically paid a fair retail price. One thing you have to worry about with non top-4 TPG coins is problem coins in problem-free holders. I have an otherwise very nice toned Ike with what looks like a huge scratch on the obverse that I bought just to remind people of this. :) In this case, considering that the silver content is about $3.75 for the group, your downside is fairly limited.
