Thanks a lot for response and valuable information, i googled 1988 United Nations Peace Medal and got a hit on one which was sold in 2011, and the UN emblem side matches to this medal but other side which shows the theme is entirely different. Link given below. https://www.icollector.com/1988-Peace-Medal_i10734230 Not only the shape differs but there is difference in weight and purity as well, as the one i found is 15.8 gm with 99.99% purity whereas the medal you referred is 42 gm with 75% purity.
Metals are difficult to nail down as a large number of them used the same die on one side and different one for the other. I hope you can nail yours down and post the results when you do. Thanks for the post.
I agree with you, as i always struggle to get any info on the UN / FAO series Medals. I hope i do get some information on this one and will share the outcome here. Hopefully someone else also find some thing relevant and add to our knowledge. Thanks
