So for the first time I sold an item on eBay. My yahoo emails said the seller had paid but it wasn't showing up in my palpal. So after I confirmed my email it showed up as pending. So the payment shows up now it just says pending and a estimated day it's available . Since I'm a first time seller I have no clue as to what I'm doing. So now eBay says ship the item. What does this pending mean ? Is it eBay and or paypal holding the payment or what's going on?
Your funds will become available 3 days after tracking number shows delivered. Funds are pending because you are a new seller. Sell a few items and then you will receive your funds instantly.
From eBay; "When you sell an item and the buyer pays through PayPal, the funds may be pending in your PayPal account for a period of time before the funds become available. This may be as little as 3 days after the buyer receives the item, but can be up to 21 days. This is to help encourage fast shipping and ensure customer satisfaction, and typically applies to sellers with a limited selling history or a below standard rating. Thanks for the help guys. I have 100 percent feedback but it's all from buying. It's not a problem for me to wait on the funds. I just wasn't sure what was going on and wanted to make sure I was going to get paid at some point before I shipped the item. So since it's showing up as pending in my paypal the seller has paid right ?
Yeh, they do that if you hadn't sold that many items. Put a hold on the funds. I listed a coin in my buy only account to get a gift certificate and same thing happened to me. In my seller account funds show right away.
yup, back when I was new selling on eBay I waited in line for 27 hours to buy a PS3... sold it on ebay for a large profit... funds weren't available until it showed delivered, back then it had the phone number of the buyer so I called him up to confirm it was delivered, he said yes I asked for positive feedback and contacted PayPal to get my hold removed. Sucks but they said they have a lot of scammers when the game systems come out.
The items are in the mail and tracking is posted. I live right beside the local postoffice so that made it easy on the shipping part. Over the years I've purchased many items on eBay just haven't sold any. I really don't plan to sell a lot just extra coins that i have several doubles of . So I decide to sell some to help fund new coins. It seems that from 115 dollars I'm going to end up with 100 so between the fees and shipping it took 15 bucks. That's really not that bad I believe I still yet made back what I had invested in those coins. It only took like 7 hr after I listed to sell. So I'm glad I gave eBay a shot . Thanks guys
Probably worth it, but not necessary any more. They raised the limit to $750 at both PayPal and eBay.
This first lot of 51 barber dimes will probably be my biggest amount dollar wise . I plan to sell the better dates off 1or2 at a time. I thought about offering free shipping on those. They are AG-g+ So I thought since they may be like 6-15 dollar coins I could just ship in a plain envelope no tracking as I've received lots of lower value coins this way. Plus shipping and tracking cost me over 4 bucks. I've been looking at past auction to see what these dates have been selling for and planed to list them close to these prices as BIN with best offer. Any thoughts about this ?
Morons will waste a huge amount of your time with stupid offers. BIN should work OK by itself. Don't sell, reduce the second time around. Before you spend untold hours selling them piecemeal, I would stick them in an album and offer as a collection; you might get lucky. But you will need excellent photographs or 600dpi scans.
I've already Sold most of the more common dates so all I have now is the better semi key coins. Maybe I can make semi key lots with 3or 4 and set a price close to what past auctions prices for these dates in similar condition.
I look for lots because they sell cheap. Not many people want all the coins in a lot. I would also try to avoid sending without tracking - particularly in your case. It is only $1.93 for up to 3 oz. When PayPal holds your money until received and you have n proof they received anything until they leave feedback. As for pricing, you can now see what past auctions have sold for. Don't worry what someone else lists something for. Most of them don't sell anyway.
The problem with making a 3- or 4-coin lot of semi-keys is that it only takes ONE coin they don't need to kill the deal. And that's why, for instance, most of the stamps I buy are large lots, the more crazy and mixed-up the better. I have plenty of time, and like buying lots that require a considerable amount of labor. I try to keep at least 1/3 of the material dollar-wise, and sell the rest for what I paid, including postage, for the whole thing. I don't have such good luck doing that with coins.
