Okay, I have to confess that those are just the fun boxes. I get bored in my study sometimes .

The larger part of the collection is stored in entirely nondescript plastic sandwich boxes which go into an electronic dry cabinet to control humidity - something that looks like this :

I shall have a "really small coins" box, as well as a "small coins box".

 

@zumbly, now that I have some time I'm looking at this picture again and fully appreciating the jokes: "The 1 2 3 4 5 6 Caesars", "Roman Coins... duh"

I'm stumped by the "EΛΛAΣ" box though. Please enlighten me

Yup, Mat has it. When we were holidaying in Greece, we saw all these tourist t-shirts with that legend. I didn't have a clue what it meant either until I looked it up later. So, just a joke to myself .

 

Each coin goes into a new PVC-free flip & then is displayed in a 20-pocket page. The coin label is adjacent to the coin so that the coin can be viewed from both sides without removing it from the 20-pocket page. Since only half of the 20-pockets have coins in them it is easy to alternate the positions on each page so that the coins do not face each other when the book is closed. I display the slabbed coins in a similar way using Eagle-brand 9-pocket plastic pages.


When I travel it is super-cool to visit fellow cointalkers. We always keep discussion of those visits by PM. (Nobody wants to discuss their location & coin travel plans in an open forum). Anoob & I live near each other. We got together this last weekend and had ALL of his coins spread out on my table. He has a new case with trays that I hope he will share in this thread. I could see myself using trays but would have to figure a good way to keep the tags with the coins. Anoob put several of my coins in his trays to demonstrate how nice they look in his trays. I think I got most of them back....

 

Nice man. Must be cool to live near a CTer, especially one with as cool of coins as Anoob.

 

Other then Randy, seems nearly all the ancient collectors on here are out east
