Mat's Birthday

In honor of Mat's birthday, I thought I'd buy myself a new coin. Actually, I already bought it a few weeks ago, but don't tell Mat. I just love the portrait style on this coin.

I just did a similar thing Bing, I 'squeezed' in a small purchase from Forum as a historical curiosity.....I always enjoy receiving presents from myself on someone's else's birthday LOL

Anyway for $9.00 I won a bid for a 'half' dupondius of Augustus and Agrippa---with the Crocodile reverse. Hmmm, I wonder which is the Ass---the half coin or me...but I had to celebrate Mat's birthday somehow

Nice coin Bing! It's always interesting to see A. Pius' portrait facing left on some of the provincials. I think 99% of his coins, imperial and provincial, have right-facing busts.

Sooo...we're buying coins in honor of Mat's birthday. That's a good plan if ever I heard one. I'll see if I can drum something up later.
