In the past I had a temporary job working for the PO and I hear stories about some delivery workers not just steal BUT too lazy to do there job to deliver. For one instance another temp was working for a regular PO worker that day and found a bunch of Priority boxes hidden in the back of his truck and was never deliver.

Thats happened to me. I have a my regular postman who comes around always at the same time and when he doesnt, I know he's off. A few times he was off I was expecting packages and not once were they delivered even though the tracking stated they were out for delivery. Last time he was off be told me many packages were hidden and he found them. He apologized and seem pretty pissed cause it made more work for him and his regulars angry.

USPS, UPS, and FedEx people do make mistakes. Just this past week I had to put someone else's mail back out in the box that was delivered to me by mistake. Different name, number, and street. Happens three or four times a year.

I always remove eBay and Paypal's name from any labels I print. I disagree with their policies, and wouldn't give them free advertising on my dime in any event.

My personal favorite was when a mail carrier in New York allegedly forwarded a package I mailed out, yet there is no forwarding information. It sounds like she ripped it off in my opinion. At least it was insured and USPS paid out.

I buy a lot of coins on ebay and I have had tracked items lost, 2 on the same day from different sellers. Both coin items went out for delivery in the morning and never made it to my house.
Mail service is terrible around here. I always worry when sellers don't use tracking.

The PO always make those kinds of mistake cause their job are not like they use to be. In the past most PO delivery are paid pretty good but since the PO these they are paid a lot less. They don't work as hard as before.

I have two friends that work for USPS as delivery men (in NYC), both make over $90k a year. They get plenty of opportunities for overtime pay.

I've lived in the same house for 20 years and I've seen the mail service go from very good to very bad. Years ago we would have the same carrier for a long time, now we get a new carrier every few months . I'm always getting other people's mail and I have had a number of items lost including tracked items.

About 5 years ago my brother found 20 thousand dollar buried under his crawl space, lots of the bill were old star notes mostly hundren, I called pcgs to tell them about the find and I was going to send a lot of them in for grading, that had a special running, I think it was 14 dollars a note to grade . So I went to my local post office to send them away, registered mail of course, with lots and lots of insurance . Seven days went by and nothing reach pcgs currency yet, on the 29th day made my last call to pcgs currency before I filled my claim . O-what fun that was to try and find a price for each note for insurance reasons, when I turned in my claim, notes went back in the system and pcgs currrency received them, with a O-my gos ..

That is far higher than most get in other jurisdictions. My dad was a USPS carrier for 30 years before moving to administrative stuff and his pay was in the $60-$65k.

That is why I don't understand why PO workers needs to steal or not do their job since they make so much income. They are not like they use to be. You get others steal your mail and not you also get PO workers doing the same. We all might as well get the droid to deliver out package for us for nothing. ;)

I had some problems with USPS awhile back. I bought a membership from ANA and requested that I get a magazine each month. For some reason ANA got my subscription messed up in thinking I wanted the online version of the magazine. So they said they would make it up to me and send me that months and the edition from the month before. Well they sent out the first two magazines and I never got them at all and talk to one of their operators and she said they would send it out again. I waited about 2 weeks and never got it. Finally they had another company they are associated with send out the magazine and this time it finally came. I haven't had any problems since, but I wonder if maybe the mail carrier was interested in coins too? I checked the post master for this area they he said they never go any returns. I know sometimes the magazines make it to the wrong homes or business, but twice? That is a little weird. Maybe I'm complaining about nothing here.

And that's happened to me with addresses I am quite familiar with, have written correctly before (I make double sure before I ship out). I've even shipped to a friend of mine one time 2 years ago (lived in the same address for YEARS) and tracking showed "undeliverable as addressed". I emailed them TRY AGAIN and what happens next day, they deliver! lol And he lives in an apartment complex no less, so the address should have been a no-brainer for the carrier.

Probably some "new hire" who couldn't find the place, either that or incorrectly scanned the package. Anything was possible, but I doubt it was my fault. I have clear handwriting anyone can read. ;)

That happened to me a few weeks ago. Two packages was to be delivered on Saturday. Then when I checked the tracking number it said "undeliverable as addressed". I call the Post Office and they said they had a substitute carrier that day and the packages is on the truck. And I got them that day.

no way in hell do mailman make $90,000 a year .. we would have to work 22 hours a day all year long ... we only make $57,000 to $60,00 without overtime

Sorry, but you're wrong as to they know what's in the boxes. I used to work for DHL, which is like FedEx and UPS, and I had no idea what was in the boxes, unless it was from Hershey's chocolate or something like that, then it was obvious. I would deliver a package to someone and sometimes they would say "what is it?" and I would WANT to say, "I don't know, I didn't have time to open it," but of course I would just say I don't know.

No sir you are incorrect as Green here worked for UPS all his life ,he has retired from UPS,and has stated yes the driver do know what's inside the boxes. Especially now that they come from the fulfillment center.
