I am currently looking at purchasing a King Edward III silver groat from a very reputable ancient coin and artifact dealer on eBay. When looking at the given description of the coin, it states it was issued in the year 1330 AD, though, to my knowledge -- i thought the specific Edward III groat and half-groat were not introduced into circulation until around the year of 1351 AD. Would like to know if anyone knows if this information given about the date of the coin is accurate or not, as I lack full knowledge of this particular era of coin.

Edward III didn't begin striking groats until the Florin Coinage in 1351.

Thank you for all of your replies but yea, 1351 is what I have read too. Thanks for the confirmation.
