I stopped selling on e bay about a little over 2 years ago.I won't be going back as a buyer or seller. As a power seller my monthly sales were $ 2000-3000 depending on what was listed and sold . 99.9% of my sales were coins.
What sealed the deal to leave e bay was many issues. I will list all of them not necessary in the order listed. Let start with Fee's , listing fee ,FVF, pay pal fee's . They were always playing with the numbers. Giving you with one hand Taking with the other. The loss of feed back by a seller another reason . I don't know any business that cannot defend it's self in a case of a unhappy customer . Making Pay Pal the only payment method . No longer to be able to accept checks and money orders as payment .
Next e bay suckling more and more of your profit margins by wanting you to ship the item free,as well as in a 24 hour window. All my customers got their paid items shipped within 24 hours. But never free,Shipping cost were on the rise, I could not afford to ship free with such slim profit margins . The policy of the buyer always being right! Yeah right I do understand scammed work both sides. But to me a good business history and feed back should be plenty of proof of your seller business ethics .
What frosted my cookies and broke the camels back was this.....
As a seller you had to roll with each of e bays new rules. If you as a seller did not link your bank account as well as give them your SS# E bay had a new surprise for you.
As a seller I followed all the rules linked my bank account gave them my SS#. However if you where one of the 500,000 whom did not this what e bay did.
You listed and sold your item. The buyer paid ,you shipped the item, the buyer received their item, and left feed back.
Now it's time for you to get paid by a check or transfer the funds from PayPal.
Oh but wait.... you didn't link your back account,we don't have your SS#. So even through you paid e bay their fee's , shipped the item, got positive feed back, We here at E bay/ Pay Pal are not going to give you your money until 90days!
So your funds were frozen until e bay felt like they would not have to refund a buyer .
I have a friend in here a disable vet, he sold on e bay to help pay his bills. How can he or anyone selling under these rules afford to sell on e bay?
Just think about this e bay has no overhead! You and I supply them with goods and services . Just think in the time it took to read my post....how much money e bay has made. On finished listening sold or not as most re list unsold items. Would you guess that they make $10.000 @ second, maybe 25,000. @ second? Who knows....Now I do understand that it does cost money to do business , however compare e bays profit margin to your's it just now a fair shake.
They tell you how to run your business they take and hold your money. No thanks! I'm done....I can make more at coin shows or flea markets . There I control my money .
I still use ebay as a tool pricing my items. Now I use them and they have no control . :)

Besides you can list your coins on coinzip.com in an auction or buy it now for free! With no charge for listing or finial value fees. Why use ebay?

I looked at coinzip and could not find anything other than big-shot ads for $20/week or $50/month, etc. Where's the free ads?

Nothing was posted about free ads.
I said you can list in their auctions or post buy it now on the site for free.
Just like this site they rely on sponsored ads to keep the site up and running . They offer to everyone a place to list coins on their auctions free of charge.
All you need to do is sign up,and Follow the rules .

And you're not loosing any good money ether! Coinzip.com does a lot to promote this hobby, they have given you an outlet to sell without charging. That said I'm going to supporting them as much as I can.
I believe in giving back to those who support this hobby.
All E bay supports is their share holders and ceo's!

I have tried those other sites like usacoinbook.com and it is not an easy place to sell. Not a lot of people use these sites, that is the problem. No fees is good, especially for lower cost coins. I will try it but seems like a waste of effort. I am testing the waters with Ebay again. Shipped out a $15 coin, as secure as I could make it. Let see what happens.

I can get better deals at a coin show than on Fleabay.
