    Machine doubling. Very common.

You are correct, you do see doubling, just not doubled die. The doubling you see is not worth anything and not related to any way in DDO or DDR. It is caused by the coin slightly moving when being struck causing the design to look at little doubled. Referred to as MD or Machine Doubling. I'm guessing that if you look good enough on half the coins in circulation you will see MD.

A worn set of dies caused that.

On the contrary, the coin shows classic signs of being struck with a deteriorating die.

This coin is screaming worn die. Just look at it and open your eyes.
